It is a truth universally acknowledged that a person in possession of a love for Austen novels or regency romance must be in want of the means to create such stories for themselves.

Good Society is a game of balls, estates, sly glances, and turns about the garden. At least, on the surface. Underneath this, just as in Austen’s own work, it is a game of social ambition, family obligation, and heart-stopping longing.
