The Mountain Witch

You are ronin. Masterless, unwanted, hired to climb Mount Fuji and kill a witch. Seven Samurai meets Reservoir Dogs: your companions are strangers with shady pasts and hidden agendas, and the only way to survive is to trust them.

Each character carries a secret Dark Fate. Betrayal isn't a risk. It's the point.

A cult classic of the indie RPG scene since 2004. First session experiment: no commitment beyond the night, but room for two or three sessions if it earns them. Needs some TTRPG experience and players who come alive at the table when the question isn't "what do I attack" but "who do I trust."
